Philippe Starck's Marie Coquine Chandelier is Classy and Whimsical

I've seen some very odd light fixtures before, but I think that the Marie Coquine chandelier takes the cake. This is because it looks like a stunning, traditional light until you comprehend that an umbrella holds it all together. Speared straight down the middle, the umbrella adds a whimsical element to this already princess-pretty design.

Created by famed designer Philippe Starck, the Marie Coquine chandelier made its debut at Salone in Milan. As a part of the Baccarat collection, it was certainly the standout piece. Its 12 lights are draped with crystals and surround the umbrella's chestnut-wood handle. The umbrella itself is an ivory color, which is echoed in the rest of the soft lighting's design.

Only 20 Marie Coquine chandeliers were created.
