Madewell Forever Helps to Give New Life to Old Pairs of Jeans

Madewell Forever makes the most of ThredUp’s resale-as-a-service and it's a place where shoppers can find pre-loved women's jeans. The newly launched platform already has thousands of products up for sale, ranging from $35 to $50.

When customers bring any brand of pre-worn jeans into a Madewell store, they can earn $20 to put toward a full-priced pair of Madewell jeans. The pre-loved pair of jeans are sent to ThredUp for sorting, so that any unsellable pieces can be processed through denim recycling programs like Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green program.

With this new platform, Madewell is on a mission to collect a million pairs of denim by 2023—this is a goal that doubles the amount it has collected in the past six years via its previous trade-in system.
