Grocery Store Rideshare Initiatives

The Lyft Grocery Access Program Offers Low-Cost Rides

The all-new Lyft Grocery Access Program has been unveiled by the rideshare company as an initiative that will offer consumers a low-cost way to get to and from the grocery store for fresh foods.

The pilot project will be run from January 2019 to June 2019 in Ward 7 and 8 in Washington DC, which are home to over 150,000 but only have three grocery stores within the areas. This will help residents to deal with the scarcity of fresh, healthy foods in their neighborhood by offering them a shared ride to the store at a cost of just $2.50.

The Lyft Grocery Access Program will be tested with 500 families at first, which will provide them with access to 50 discounted rides within the six-month period.
