Lunchtime Rave Parties

Armida Ascano Discusses the Craze of Raving During Lunch Breaks in Sweden

Lunch Beat rave parties are a new craze sweeping across European cities. For 60 minutes, office workers are encouraged to get off their office chairs and dance away. Lunch Beat began in Stockholm, Sweden where creator Molly Range was inspired by the book and movie Fight Club, except that instead of underground fighting, she saw an opportunity for underground dancing. The craze has since gone global.

Armida Ascano, affectionately referred to by co-workers as Armi, chats about this innovative and healthy lunchtime activity, as well as her many childhood aspirations. Ascano interned at Trend Hunter in 2010, and is now working as the Editor and Academy Strategist.
