Calidad Beer, which was co-founded by baseball star Adrian Gonzalez and entrepreneur Josh Zad with the aim of bringing Mexican-style beverages to California, has introduced a delicious new low-calorie beer that nevertheless manages to score high when it comes to flavor.

The 'Calidad Light' beer comes in at only four percent ABV and happens to contain no more than 96 calories and 2.8 grams of carbohydrates per can. What's more, it also contains very low levels of gluten, making it a promising option for people with sensitivity to gluten.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, this low-calorie beer is being positioned as a goo option for people who value a healthy and active lifestyle but still want to be able to enjoy a deliciously refreshing beer every now and again. "With Calidad Light, I wanted to create a product that not only complements my active lifestyle, but also preserves the authentic taste found in our classic Mexican-style lager," noted Gonzalez, a five-time MLB All-Star.
