L’Oréal for the Future is the beauty brand's latest sustainability initiative that aims to transform the company's production methods, management of resources and more.

Responding to ongoing social and climate change issues, L’Oréal believes that "with higher stakes must come stronger commitments." Though it has been criticized for its environmental efforts in the past -- a response to the beauty industry's impact on the planet -- the company has taken a firmer stance on sustainability in recent years.

It has not only achieved an A score in all three CDP rankings "including climate protection, water management, forest preservation four years in a row" but has also committed to preserving natural resources, managing water usage, respecting biodiversity and helping to fight climate change. By 2019, L’Oréal improved the social and environmental profile of 85% of its products and helped "90,635 people from disadvantaged communities find employment through its solidarity purchasing and inclusion programs" by the end of last year.
