Wooden Subway Replicas

This Artist Created a Wooden and Hand-Painted London Subway Tribute

Artist Camilla Barnard collaborated with woodworker Gunter Luck to create this wooden and hand-painted replica of a London subway station. The iconic underground London subway system known as the tube gets an honorable tribute in this artistic replication, which is appropriately titled 'Wooden Tube Station.'

The entire art installation features iconic 'Underground' signage and maps that become instantaneously recognized as an homage to London's transit. Each piece of wood has been hand-painted and crafted so well that it looks like a theatrical stage setting for a London-based production. There are also quirky cartoon-like signs and features that add a sense of play to the art installation as well.

The wonderful Wooden Tube Station created for this year's 'Designjunction' exhibition in London can be viewed at the former art school campus in Holborn.
