Filming the Lincoln MKS Launch at the LA Auto Show (SPONSORED)

Attending the LA Auto Show is every car enthusiast’s dream. When Trend Hunter’s video editor Olivia Gissing and I set out to Los Angeles to cover the latest and greatest vehicle launches, needless to say, we were ecstatic.

Upon arrival at the LA Convention Center, Olivia and I were greeted by a life-sized Mario Kart racer as well as a slew of the world’s most cutting edge vehicles – all in one place. Touring around, we were eagerly anticipating the launch of the Lincoln MKS.

We had the pleasure of speaking to a variety of individuals who had the privilege of working on the MKS including the Director of Lincoln Design, Max Wolff. Creating a car as charming as his personality, he divulged all of the details of the luxurious design of the vehicle and the ease of use (and beauty) of the eight inch My Lincoln Touch system. When asked to describe the MKS in three words, Wolff just had to say more. Gushing over this cutting edge automobile, he told us that the MKS is, "Refined, elegant and has great craftsmanship and attention to detail." THX II Certified and complete with Bridge of Weir leather, I’d have to agree.

Kate Pearce, a Marketing Manager at Lincoln, dove into the safety features of the Lincoln MKS with our team. She revealed some of the radar-based & camera-based features of the MKS that were truly fascinating. For example, the handy Blind Spot Information System Lane Keeping Alert and the Lane Keeping Aid. Plenty of accidents could be easily prevented every year if every car had a system that tells the driver when they’re veering into the wrong lane. Texting, eating or being tired while driving is never a good idea, but these radar-based systems make sure that regardless of what’s going on, you’re safe in your own lane. Talk about smart and intuitive cars!

The Director of Lincoln Product Development, Scott Tobin, was a pleasure to speak with on and off camera. He told us about the inspired Lincoln Drive Control feature the MKS comes complete with. The use of Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) working in tandem with Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) that come standard in the MKS is enough to transform a boring, traffic-ridden commute to the office into an enjoyable cruise. And for those who feel the need for speed (don’t we all?) the MKS includes Torque Vectoring Control (TVC). This enhances the agility of the vehicle, resulting in better quality and more traction.

Lastly, as Trend Hunter is a big supporter of social and environmental efforts made across all industries, so I was particularly impressed with the EcoBoost engine. With the power of a V8 engine, the first thing that came to my mind was not the term "eco-friendly," however, the engine has the fuel economy of a V6! Not a small feat.

Being able to experience and film the reveal of the Lincoln MKS was a real treat and I can’t wait to see what the future of Lincoln has in store for the world!
