Life expectancy is a curiosity that is difficult to predict for most people; Tikker allows individuals to count down their lives based on a questionnaire that is filled out prior to using the watch.
While the actual watch can't predict sudden occurences, the predicter is set based on characteristics such as your age, geographic location and so forth. The actual expiration date of your life is then predicted and displayed on your watch (alongside the time of day).
The inspiration of this piece comes from creator Fredrik Colting's grandfather's death. He explains that his grandfather's death made hime realize "that nothing matters when you are dead; instead what matters is what we do when we are alive."
This watch then helps one make every living second count. Neat concept.
