Folded Building Block Sculptures

The LEGO Pop-Up Kinkaku-ji Opens Up like a Children's Storybook

The LEGO Pop-up Kinkaku-ji is perhaps one of the most impressive LEGO sculptures out there to date. Aside from the similar LEGO Pop-up Todai-ji + Daibutsu, which was created by the same person. It might not be massive or possess any other overdone quality. Instead, it unfolds like a classic pop-up storybook to reveal a hidden piece of architecture mimicking a real building. In this case that building is the Golden Pavilion of World Heritage.

At first the LEGO Pop-Up Kinkaku-ji looks like nothing more than a colorful building block briefcase. As the You Tube video plays on, however, it is soon revealed that this 'briefcase' opens up to become a detailed example of architecture. Unlike its predecessor, it doesn't open up further.
