Life-Sized LEGO Vehicles

This Life-Sized Air-Powered LEGO Car Runs At 20mph

This life-sized LEGO car is fully functional and runs 20mph. It was designed and built by Steve Sammartino and Raul Oaida, who took 500,000 pieces of LEGO and 256 pistons to create the vehicle. It contains four orbital engines powering the massive lump of plastic bricks to make the car functional. This vehicle was originally made in Romania then was shipped to Melbourne, Australia.

The fact that it's made of LEGO had the drivers a little intimidated when road tested the first time as a sustainable vehicle. It would have been unfortunate if the car had dismantled itself but was luckily able to be driven safety on the streets of Melbourne. This life-sized LEGO car shows how building toys can be taken to real life context.
