Streamlined Cutlery Collections

'L'e Starck' is a Set of Cutlery Inspired by a 1920s Design

Famed designer Philippe Starck has created a new collection of cutlery called 'L'e Starck', which was inspired by a famous 1920s vegetable peeler owned by the designer's own grandmother. The collection stands out thanks to a streamlined handle design that's both attractive to the eye and smoothly functional in one's hand.

L'e Starck is directly influenced by 'L'Econome', a vegetable peeler first released in 1923 by Le Thier knives. The design was later purchased by Degrenne, and Starck has thus released his new collection in collaboration with Degrenne. The L'e Starck collection includes a 10-centimeter paring knife, a 20-centimeter kitchen knife, a bread knife, spoons, forks, and of course a vegetable peeler. The utensil handles are offered in six different color schemes named after vegetables, including Turnip, Artichoke, and Black Truffle.
