Le Desir et la Menace by Cedric Le Borgne is Delicately Luminous

As delicate as a feather, the Le Desir et la Menace installation beautifully depicts a pair of birds made out of fine wire. Sitting contentedly on the branches of a tree just off Rue de la Fontaine in Geneva, Switzerland, they were created for the 2012 Festival Arbres en Lumière, an outdoor tree light festival. Although their name means 'Desire and Threat' in French, both of which could easily be linked to one of the deadly sins, it is hard to imagine these graceful sculptures being anything more than a delightful sighting.

Created by French artist Cédric Le Borgne, who is known for sculptures taking more human forms, the Le Desir et la Menace installation is lit from below to better fit in with the theme of the festival.
