Lancome Eco-Chic Initiative

Beautiful At Carbonfund.org

Designer cosmetics and beauty brand, Lancome, launched a new campaign against global warming. Along with selling cute T-shirts for the cause, the Eco-Chic initiative teamed super models with Carbonfund.org to help reduce their carbon footprints. The video captures the beautiful young activists at the NYC photo shoot for the campaign.

Good for Lancome for getting involved. The more celebrities actively voice their concerns for our earth, the more people will listen. Lancome's target demographic includes affluent women concerned with personal beauty; bringing them awareness that our beautiful blue planet is in danger is a fabulous way to get moneyed, caring individuals involved. Like model Selena said, "We have to be more aware and conscious of this issue."

"Lancome is supporting us as their spokeswomen to be carbon-free, and carbon-neutral, which means they're going to offset all of our travel; it feels great to be a part of that team," said Canadian model Shalom Harlow.

Fellow Canuck, Daria Werbowy, said "We live in such a luxurious world, and being a model, I travel so much and I think it's important to sort of counteract the bad things we do and do something good."

Mode Elettra also voiced her environmental concerns, "Taking a flight, one flight, does have an impact, and you know, deforestation accounts for 18% of global warming so there is a way to kind of off-set your emissions."
