Spiky Sea Urchin Style

Koi Suwannagate's Opulent Ocean Inspirations for Spring 2010

With what started as a Valentine to her home country (who also, incidentally, sponsored his show), Koi Suwannagate pushed past her self-imposed boundaries and proceeded to unleash creative hell for New York Fashion Week Spring 2010.

Working with recycled materials and soft cashmere, hundreds of spiky sea urchins and her signature flowers adorned the mostly black and white fashions. Deconstruction was a major theme in Koi Suwannagate’s Spring 2010 collection, with exposed shoulder pads and spiky sea urchins crawling their way up the garments.
