Japan's Newest Kit Kat Bars Feature Plastic-Free Paper Packaging

As of September this year, Nestlé Japan is doing away with plastic packaging for its Kit Kat bars and will introduce paper packaging with an origami-inspired twist. As well as offering a fun way to repurpose used chocolate bar wrappers, this simple packaging switch is set to help save hundreds of tons of plastic each year.

The paper chocolate wrapper packaging is being rolled out for products like the Kit Kat Mini Original, which encourage people to turn them into paper cranes with special messages on them that can be shared with friends and family members.

With the introduction of these new Kit Kat chocolate bar wrappers, Nestlé Japan is working towards its goal of using only 100% recyclable and reusable packaging by the year 2025.
