Kingsbarns Distillery Announces the Release of Its Distillery Reserve

Lowland-based scotch maker Kingsbarns Distillery has announced the final release of its highly-coveted Distillery Reserve whiskey. Bottled at full cask strength, the premium expression has been handpicked by Isabella Wemyss, the production director at Kingsbarns Distillery.

According to the company, the whiskey has been aged in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and first-fill shaved and toasted red wine barriques, giving it a sophisticated flavor profile with both fruit and spicy tasting notes.

"For this year’s release, we’ve increased the ratio of STR casks in our signature makeup to give an indication of the ongoing maturation of our spirit. We’ve retained our light and elegant distillery character, with more spice and sticky fruit notes. There’s a real balance to it, especially at such high strength," explained Wemyss in a recent press statement.
