Katharos Launches New Meltable Vegan Cheese Product

Katharos, a Mumbai-based food manufacturer specializing in innovative plant-based alternatives, has announced the launch of the world's first vegan cheese range made from watermelon seeds. The new line will include dairy-free mozzarella and cheddar cheese blocks that can be sliced and eaten as well as melted and grated on pizza, burgers, fondue, and more.

In addition to watermelon seeds, the new vegan cheese is made with coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, carrageenan, potato starch, nutritional yeast, and corn. Katharos' watermelon seed-based pizza is not the first plant-based dairy alternative offered by the brand. For example, the company also offers a pizza cheese sauce made from cashews, and an almond-based feta cheese.

"These cheeses are not only nutritious but also rich in texture and flavor. We firmly believe in bringing healthy and affordable plant-based products to people. This is another step towards appeasing the cheese cravings of steadfast and transitioning vegans," said Jasmine Bharucha, founder of Katharos.
