Karl Lagerfeld Still Obsessed With Thin; Calls French Woman Fat

German designer Karl Lagerfeld shrugged off concerns the obsession with ultra-thin models in the fashion industry and called French women too fat, "In a country like France, with 18 percent of girls in the (northern region of) Pas de Calais being too fat -- I think they needed more treatment than the zero-point-I-don't-know percent of the too skinny ones." When discussing his own models, he suggested, "We don't see anorexic (girls). The girls are skinny. They have skinny bones."

At the beginning of October, we covered that Madrid was banning skinny models from their catwalk. This was exciting news for all those who feel that fashion has been sending the wrong message for years.

Then, this week, we saw that Jean Paul Gaultier was at the other end of the extreme with 20+ models.
