Dual Purpose Packaging

Juan Regueiro Crafts a Cheese Container that Doubles as a Cutting Board

Design student Juan Regueiro was charged with the challenge of creating innovative and functional packaging for a typical piece of traditional Spanish galician cheese. This bizarrely ingenious design not only holds the impressive piece of cheese in place, but also acts as a convenient cutting board for when you’re on the go.

Juan Regueiro offers a nod to the origins of the cheese by cladding the packaging in serene graphics of grass from the Galician meadows where the majority of this cheese is crafted. Not only is the packaging gorgeous, it also speaks to the quality of the product and validates the cheese as the real deal. The cardboard holder is sure to raise a few eyebrows in the cheese isle, but the functionality of the packaging will keep them coming back.

Simple, strange and functional, Juan Regueiro’s packaging is the perfect container for this uniquely shaped cheese.
