The John Clang 'Being Together' Series Reunites People Digitally

The John Clang 'Being Together' photography series overcomes distances. Inspired by his own familial distance separations, New York-based photographer John Clang adapted a new way to shoot family portraits. Since Clang's family is lives in Singapore, the photographer used the technology of Skype to capture his family.

This series demonstrates what Clang's website proclaims as his, "affinity for subject matters closely related to [his] daily life." By projecting a live webcam Clang was able to capture the entire family standing in unison. While, the streaming allowed the ability to capture the "in the moment" spontaneity of family interaction.
