Photographer Jem Cresswell literally swam within the center of a storm to capture this image of Sidney shores. After hearing that a front was slowly approaching, Cresswell swam 200 meters into the water so that she capture the cloudy skies and the way in which they meet the sea's surface.
Cresswell was alerted about the skies by a friend. Soon after she embarked on her photographic journey to Bronte Beach. By literally submerging herself in the water, Cresswell was able to do away with cliffs that would have otherwise obscured the shot.
Via zoom features, Cresswell captured an orange sunset and aggressive waves. A small bird is also pictured above, showcasing how the animals interact with the high winds.
