JCPenney & HairToStay are Supporting Low-Income Cancer Patients

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and JCPenney and HairToStay have teamed up to support low-income cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The American retailer's has teamed up with the nonprofit organization thanks to its focus on helping cancer patients afford scalp cooling treatments across the US.

"Approximately 8% of cancer patients will elect to not go through chemotherapy, a potentially life saving treatment because of the fear of hair loss. The process of scalp cooling can dramatically reduce chemotherapy induced hair loss, but it is a new treatment that is often not covered by public and private insurance." JCPenney and HairToStay aim to tackle this issue with the retailer's $50,000 donation, with proceeds helping to fund hair-preserving, scalp cooling treatments.
