Green Onion Umbrellas

This Spring Onion Umbrella is Perfect for April Showers

This Japanese umbrella was designed to look like and named after a Welsh onion, so there's no mistaking it for any other kind of vegetable.

When it's folded up, the 'Welsh Onion Umbrella' is at its most vegetable-like, since it has a subtle gradation in color that goes from white to dark green. It's tied with a contrasting red strap that looks like an elastic band and the thin handle of the umbrella is sliced to look like the onion has been cut through. However, when it's opened up, the umbrella's likeness to a spring onion is not as noticeable and it does look more like just a pretty green ombre effect.

The Welsh Onion Umbrella is available for purchase through the Taiwanese crowdfunding site Limit Style for about $25.
