Metal-framed furniture has never looked so playful as in the Oferenda Jangada Collection. This series of whimsical objects includes a stool, a rocking chair, a wall panel and a flower vase. The structures of the first three have been assembled securely from perforated aluminum components, allowing the pieces to maintain a rigidity beneath their lighthearted surfaces.
Designer Nicole Tomazi created wavelike patterns in the seats by threading bright blue nautical rope through the holes in the metal. This was done carefully and repetitively in crochet-style V-shaped stitches, coating the hard aluminum sheets with a softness for a more comfortable experience.
More haphazardly was the wall panel weaved, creating loops and knots for the stashing of miscellaneous implements. The Jangada Collection stem holder is comparatively structure-less, slumping to one side beneath the weight of its bouquet.
