Razer Relaunched its Interhaptics SDK for Developers and Studios for Free

Razer, the world's leading lifestyle brand for gamers, announced the relaunch of its Interhaptics SDK and developer tools. The Interhaptics SDK allows developers and studios to take full advantage of haptics technologies with various exclusive features, such as audio-to-haptics functionality.

In addition to the audio sensing haptics, the Interhaptics service allows developers to customize haptics on three perceptions, including vibration, textures, and stiffness of haptic responses, as well as take advantage of a large library of premade haptics effects.

Razer states in its press release that developers and studios will also gain early access to the Interhaptics SDK designed for DualSense, iOS, Android, and Meta Quest 2 controllers. The DualSense controller is particularly noteworthy as it benefits from adaptive triggers and precision haptic feedback throughout the controller.

Eric Vezzoli, the CEO of Interhaptics at Razer, stated: "Currently every OEM has their own unique or proprietary method to create a haptics experience for each device, which cannot easily be ported across different platforms, and is notoriously hard to implement. We have solved this issue, and together with Razer, we made sure that the Haptic Composer and the SDK are free for game studios and developers to use. We are excited to see how the game development industry will continue to push the boundaries of the gaming experience together with Interhaptics."
