Innovatively Intelligent Lighting

This New Intelligent Lighting System is Sustainable and Reliable

A new intelligent lighting system installed at the recently opened Watt Family Innovation Center at Clemson University is designed to make full use of Philips' LED technology and Power over Ethernet capability to offer significant energy savings of up to 70 per cent.

The setup includes the use of Ethernet cables to juice individual light points, allowing data to be sent to and from the lights. This allows for the monitoring of light usage. The light points are capable of figuring out how well a room is light, before automatically increasing or decreasing their level of brightness to offer ideal lighting. The system also studies data from individual light fixtures to figure out whether a room is occupied or not, before adjusting lighting accordingly.

This intelligent lighting system not only helps conserve energy but also provides the best possible lighting experience by using sensitive smart technology.
