Artist Ilya Kuvshinov Renders Famous Female Faces to Young Girls

Russian artist Ilya Kuvshinov's series Beautiful Illustrated Girls features a slew of famous characters from popular films rendered as childlike innocent faces. The result is an array of child-like young women juxtaposed with these very adult roles.

Kuvshinov’s realistic painting style is breathtaking to look at. She effortlessly uses shading and detailing to recreate the human face so that it is flawless and almost doll-like. The enhanced doe eyes of these female characters adds to creating a girlhood innocence that is whimsical and yet almost eerie. My favorite of Kuvshinov’s paintings is the one of Mia Wallace smoking away at a slender cigarette as her black bob hangs in front of her scheming eyes.

It’s interesting to see many of these famous, tough and rough around the edges heroines transformed into innocent girls.
