Supercomputer-Crafted Recipes

IBM Chef Watson Was Challenged to Make 'EATS' with Four Ingredients

In order to show off the amazing abilities of IBM Chef Watson, an artificial intelligence system, Oglivy Paris challenged the supercomputer to come up with specific types of recipes. Chef Watson was challenged to create 'EATS,' or meals using just four main ingredients that begin with the letters "E," "A," "T" and "S."

While it would be easy for any chef to throw together a mishmash of ingredients, Watson developed sophisticated recipes like Egg Seafood Salad, Elderberry Tiramisu and an Epazote Poultry Dish. To share the results in a standout way on social media, the agency collaborated with artists to create unique visuals representing each ingredient's first letter.

More inventive creations from IBM Chef Watson can be found through the Cognitive Cooking with Chef Watson cookbook, as well as an online recipe portal.
