Wiry Minimal Stairs

The House C Staircase Extremely Modernizes an Original 1900 Mansion

The House C Staircase is as unique and exciting as it is modern and minimalist. The excitement generated from the design of the staircase isn't just because of its unique aspect. The thin steel tubes used for the rails as well as the steps make the climb up and down subtly heart-pounding. Thankfully, it is only a short climb both ways.

Created by Milanese architect and designer Francesco Librizzi in collaboration with Matilde Cassani, the House C Staircase is part of a large renovation of the existing mansion, which was originally built in 1900. According to the designers, "The only possible intervebntion was an almost-2D frame, able to double the space in height and create new possibilities on other layers."
