High-Performance Coupe Concepts

The Honda Civic Concept Features Toned-Down Styling

The Honda Civic Concept won't be released in production form till the end of the year, but it's already creating plenty of buzz. This coupe version of the Civic will inform other versions of the car worldwide.

The production model of this Honda Civic Concept is expected to share the same metalwork as the concept, with styling toned down significantly due to removal of the deep front and rear air dams, rear spoiler, wheels and side mirrors. The car's headlights will also be less futuristic than the concept version, which is all-LED.

Honda is still holding many of the technical details close to its chest, but we do know for a fact that these 10th-generation Civics will be using 2-liter normally aspirated four-cylinder engines and 1.5-liter turbocharged engines, all equipped with Honda's proprietary VTEC variable valve timing and lift systems.

What's clear is that this is a vehicle targeted towards people who value performance over flash.
