The Homeless Essentials Photo Series Documents Personal Items

The unique stories of those who experience street homelessness is a topic of creative exploration and charitable initiatives, however the creative agency Urban Pathways has launched a new and emphatic project to highlight the individuality or experiences of homeless people in New York.

The creative photo campaign asks individuals what they value most, and what they carry on them at all times, effectively telling the unique story of each individual behind the items. The items are laid out on a table and photographed together. Some of the personal pieces include photographs and drivers licenses, while others include text books, makeup and high school diplomas.

A small interview accompanies each photograph, as the project's mission statement reads, "ordinary items can take on an extraordinary meaning in the face of tremendous adversity."
