Half-Moon Pod Chairs

The 'Hideaway' Chair Provides Kids at a Cozy Seat and Place to Escape

The Hideaway chair is designed by Think & Shift to allow children to escape from the chaos and to just relax in their own personal pod-like seat. The cozy chair is made from four plywood panels that are curved into a half-circle shell-like seat.

The seat perches on four legs and remains close to the ground for the convenience of a child. The closed off shell appeals to a child's imagination and allows them to sit however they like with ample space to sprawl out their limbs. Children prefer to sit in uncommon positions like upside-down, sideways, in a ball, on their knees or with a friend and the Hideaway chair satisfies all of these urges.

The wooden seat is upholstered with black material and the cushions can be removed and washed so whatever mess children make can always be cleaned.Photo Credits: designboom, thinkandshift.co.nz
