Flexible Solar Film Energy

Heliatek and Solar Cloth Design the New HeliaFilm Panel

Heliatek works in collaboration with Solar Cloth to develop the new Heliafilm technology, which is a flexible solar panel that helps create clean energy. The traditional solar panel is a rigid framework and is less malleable for various environments.

The new HeliaFilm is a stick-on roll of film that is able to stick to various surfaces including glass, metal, and concrete. French company Solar Cloth recently launched their M170 solar film model, which is only 0.5 mm thick and can stick to different surfaces whilst straight or bent. This technique is applied to create the film based on material recycling to ensure that it is even more renewable. The HeliaFilm uses organic photovoltaics, otherwise known as OP technology by using light and converting that to electricity.
