Dror Kaspi, a designer for ARDOMA Design, crafted the HELIA Lights to resemble the inside of a sunflower. The delicate design is contrasted by the use of a seemingly harsh use of material -- concrete. The design label has a history of pushing creative boundaries and this use of material is not out of the ordinary. The HELIA Lights are a series of a pendant lights, ceiling lights, floor lamps and table lights covered by a concrete structure that resembles woven mesh.
Dror Kaspi was inspired by the sunflower seed spiral pattern's different directions. This idea was incorporated onto the HELIA lamp series to resemble the delicate nature with the unconventional material of concrete. To create the woven design, the label had to create its own special mixture with a unique method of casting. The light illuminates through the little perforations between the weaves and openings. The lighting fixtures are available in: light gray, white, dark gray, yellow, blue and red.
