Cell Phone Lockboxes

The Phone Cell Hides Phones Away for a Better Night's Sleep

Created as a consumer electronics design project, the Hans Ramzan Phone Cell is based on the idea that productivity and sleep can be negatively impacted by the presence of cell phones.

The Hans Ramzan Phone Cell, which looks and functions like a typical bedside alarm clock, opens to become a lockbox for mobile phones. The phone is placed in the box before the user goes to sleep. The second part of the device is a step counter, which is worn around the user's wrist. The Phone Cell will only open after a certain number of steps are taken, meaning that the user's phone will be returned only after their morning routine is completed. The Hans Ramzan Phone Cell will allow for better sleep, removing the distraction and potential light pollution of the phone at bedtime, and increased productivity, forcing the user to rise and start their morning rather than remaining in bed on their phone.

The idea that personal technology can be a detractor from productivity and health is gaining traction in today's world. The Hans Ramzan Phone Cell offers a solution.
