'Handmade at Amazon' Sells Factory-Free Items from Over 60 Countries

'Handmade at Amazon' is the new source for handmade goods supplied directly by artisans from around the world.

Like the current queen of craft shopping Etsy, Handmade at Amazon allows sellers of artisan goods to create their own pages. Each maker can customize their own page to list as much detail as they'd like, including information on location, materials and production process. They can also provide contact information in case buyers want to contact them directly.

In 2014, Etsy changed its rules to allow its sellers to outsource production of their original designs. Handmade at Amazon is therefore setting itself apart by guaranteeing that all of the products it offers are 100% factory-free. However, Amazon also offers an avenue for makers who want to move into larger scale production: if they no longer fit into the factory-free requirements of Handmade at Amazon, sellers can shift their products to Amazon Marketplace.
