Lots of people view graffiti as an eye-sore but for street artist Ugly-Kid Gumo (real name Nicholas-Gumo) sees it as part of his life. The mythical city of Oz was the inspiration for Gumo graffiti. Gumo explains that the meaning behind Oz as his inspiration saying, "[t]hese stories are actually metaphors for the social problems that plague the American society but which are transferable to every corner of the world or human lives. Oz is never far from us."
The colors in Gumo's work are quite incredible, each color ignites emotions in the viewer. For the most, his work consists of faces, each with a look of suffering.
Each image is quite powerful in their own way and can definitely be considered more than just graffiti.
