Osklen 'Rising' Fall '09 Collection Goes Straight to the Head of the Class

With Osklen, Fall 2009 will be all about grey, glam, glitter, and cozy, with a little bit of nerdiness to boot.

Presented in São Paulo Fashion Week, the ‘Rising’ collection uses grey, brown and black in monochromatic proposals. Osklen designs are easy to wear and comfort is always a top concern. Knit pieces were accented with plastic appliques that add a subtle glitter to these street dresses/sweaters. The dreadlocks make a great contrast with these feminine skirts and dresses, and even the glasses are covered with wool.

Born in 1989 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, lifestyle fashion brand Osklen was created by Oskar Metsavaht. Osklen is one of the top Brazilian brands with their upbeat design and casual chic style. Osklen is what you'd call an ecobrand as well--Metsavaht is certainly concerned with environment issues.

Oskar Metsavaht may be the father of slow fashion, a recent trend/concept that should synthesize the best of ideals: sustainability, aesthetics and respect for the environment at a time of economic crisis.
