Human Hampster Wheels

The Green Wheel Generates Energy from Joggers' Movement

If there was a Green Wheel installed in your neighborhood, you might not be the only one with the potential to benefit from your early morning run. This innovative idea by Nadim Inaty suggests putting peoples' spent kinetic energy to use for the sustainable generation of power.

Essentially the project proposes that these sleek polycarbonate capsules containing eco treadmills be positioned in public places, attracting joggers to lend a little motion before passing by. Electrical energy is produced and stored for use to illuminate streetlights and support other city infrastructure. It is estimated that about 30 minutes of exercise on the Green Wheel would generate about 120 kilowatts. This can add up to a great deal if the active are ardent in using it.
