Leaping Long-Chained Beads

These Gravity-Defying Beads Must be Made of Magic

The gravity-defying beads are a sight to see. The beads pour out like a fountain of water. Evidently enough, the experiment can be done at home.

You need to lay a long chain of beads in a pile inside a pot, container, beaker or something similar and pull the end of the chain over the rim of the container and let go. The chain will flow over looking like a fountain of water and also arc upwards as it pours out.

Although the reason for the chain of beads falling out was understandable, the reason for the arc that occurs was interesting. Scientist figured out that the reason for the beads leaping upwards is because the remaining beads in the container are somehow pushing the others.

Try it at home and see for yourself!
