Psychologically Symbolic Dioramas

Grace Watson Makes Astute Observations Through Her Art

Grace Watson has a gift for dioramas and symbology. In fact, she could easily be awarded an honorary psychology degree with her artworks. Describing her pieces as "psychological landscapes," Grace Watson explores different scenarios as they often are instead of how they appear to be. Through the art of dioramas, she is able to bring to life her astute observations in a way that is both realistic and surreal.

Based in Seattle, Washington, Grace Watson was introduced to photography during community college. From there she fell in love with studio photography which grew into staging narrative scenes in the studio. She writes, "Through my photographs of my constructed staged vignettes I strive to undertake the dilemmas and fears that at first seem personal, yet resonate on a universal level."
