Barclaycard's Grab+Go App Introduces a Queue-Less "Pocket Checkout"

'Grab+Go' is the name of a new app from Barclaycard that aims to streamline the process of making in-store purchases. With the app, users will be able to pre-load payments and scan the barcodes of the items they wish to purchase. Then, rather than having to visit a checkout counter to finalize and pay for their shop, Grab+Go app users simply select "I'm done," and walk out of the store. At this point, the payment is processed and the receipt is stored within the app.

This "pocket checkout" has the potential to significantly reduce or eliminate queues and introduce consumers to a more convenient way to pay for desired goods.

As it stands, the Grab+Go app is currently being tested by Barclaycard employees at a staff restaurant in London before it is officially introduced to the public.
