Lifelike Troll Installations

The Giant Gollum Sculpture by Weta Gets Can be Seen at the NZ Airport

The people over at Weta have designed and BUILT a giant Gollum sculpture that is now up on display at the Wellington airport in New Zealand. The sculpture measures in at 13-meters wide and features the Lord of the Rings character catching some large fish suspended in the air.

The video showcases a hard working crew installing the giant Gollum sculpture inside the airport on October 25th. The Weta crew worked constantly for three days to get Gollum hoisted up in the airports main lounge. The amazing part is just how realistic the sculpture looks and Airport CEO Steve Sanderson said that "everyone will be amazed when they enter the terminal."

The project was designed and produced by Richard Taylor and other Weta Workshop supervisors.
