The Geely Aeolus is a fierce new compact concept designed by Yuhan Zhang for the not-so far-off future. The Aeolus is a hybrid but is designed different from the Prius and Volts of the world in that it features a pneumatic engine.
Pneumatic hybrid engines are complicated to say the least, but in essence, what they do is replace the vehicle's bulky and expensive battery with a tank of compressed air. The Geely Aeolus is designed to be affordable and stylish, delivering on both fronts. The Aeolus is small, but its angular and sharp exterior and retractable roof more than make up for the squished interior. The Geely Aeolus is also designed for the mass market and is tentatively priced at $8,000. For the price of a Prius you could own three Geely Aeolus -- just food for thought.
