When a loved one passes away, they are more often than not clad in their favorite outfit or a dressy ensemble picked out by a family member, yet sometimes these choices are unsuitable for the occasion. That is because they were never meant to be worn to such an occasion.
Designer Pia Interlandi observes, "Momentous occasions of ritual and ceremony usually call for particular clothing, such as a wedding dress, which has been sewn with great care." That is what Garments for the Grave hopes to be when it comes to funerals. Inspired by the death of her own grandfather, she created the line to dress the dead as respectfully and easy as possible.
