Leo Burnett India Creates Mahatma Gandhi Font

Leo Burnett India has created a commemorative Mahatma Gandhi font to celebrate what would have been the leader's 141st birthday. The typeface was modeled after Gandhi's glasses, which were perhaps the most iconic in history.

While it may seem like a pair of glasses couldn't possibly be enough to inspire an entire alphabet, the folks over at Leo Burnett India have done that and then some, crafting more than a dozen fonts. The Gandhi font is surprisingly legible and actually looks as if it were made out of broken bits of Gandhi's glasses. Leo Burnett India is currently offering the font in downloadable format in an attempt to help spread peace and nonviolence one word document and email at a time.
