Funky Magic Carpets Bring Mesmerizing Patterns to Milton Keynes

The Milton Keynes International Festival has some funky magic carpets that attendees can explore. The organization commissioned the 'Magic Carpet 2016' project and enlisted Mexican artist Miguel Chevalier to conjure up some psychedelic flooring.

Known for his interactive work, Chevalier created virtual reality carpeting that moves under the feet of anyone who walks across it. Multiple bright patterns and shapes intertwine with each other and flow across the ground into new artistic carpets every few minutes. To make the experience even more immersive, a sound installation, created by artist Ray Lee, was added to the space.

The funky magic carpets mixed with the audio experience brings playtime to adults, who seem just as engrossed as children with the kaleidoscopic flooring under their feet.
