Fresh Futuristic Fashion

Louise Goldin's Sports Medicine-Inspired Spring 2009 Collection

Knitwear designer Louise Goldin's collection for Spring 2009 takes a softer approach to the futuristic trend in fashion. Calming pastel colors and rolled edges give the pieces a comfy relaxed look. Even when the hems are squared off, the fabric drapes in a far more supple fashion than with other space-age collections we've seen.

The outfits also have an athletic feel worn layered over pale bodysuits and bike shorts. Take a look at the blue tanktop outfit with the leggings that resemble some sort of sports knee brace. Goldin said she "spent hours in scientific libraries researching data and being inspired by graphs, statistics, and high-tech fabrics developed for medicine."

Overall I love the collection; it is really innovative, and yet I believe the pieces would be truly comfortable to wear.
