The Vlooyberg Tower Offer a Free-Standing Lookout Point in Tielt-Winge

The Vlooyberg Tower is a modernist free-standing lookout point designed by Belgian architectural firm Close to the Bone that provides a surrealist staircase tourists can climb to have an amazing view of the landscape. The tower features a zig-zag design that features a set of stairs leading up to a lookout point that showcases the expansive forests and farmlands below.

While staircases are often used in design to connect floors, Close to the Bone subverts this notion by using the concept of a staircase as the structural design of a tower. The zig-zagging pattern of the bronzed tower leads consumers up to a lookout point that is suspended high above the ground. Since the tower extends in height diagonally, the tower takes up a minimal amount of room on the farmlands below.
